Wednesday's Question of the Day
What was it about God that first drew you to Him?
What is it about God that keeps you coming back to Him for more?
The thought of an all powerful, all knowing supreme being is pretty awe inspiring in a small child. I was raised catholic so it was brought home early of how powerful He was. What brought me back to Him? His Son and his message of compassion and redemption. Pretty powerful stuff for a sinner like me.
Bub...trust me...I think it is pretty powerful stuff for any of us who are honest with ourselves...Not a one of us deserve His love, grace, and redemption...yet, He freely offers it to us! Ain't God great?
First drew me? Honestly, the stories in the Bible. They are so incredible! Everything from Jesus' sacrifice, to talking donkeys, to prophecy. They are better than Hollywood anyday!
What keeps me coming back? I love to learn. Since God is greater than the human mind can understand, I can learn something about Him everyday and never know it all. It is both the mystery of God and the consistency of His Word and how it all fits together perfectly.
