Struggles--100 Words

What causes you to struggle?

Dieting? Exercising? Learning a new skill online?

I suppose we all struggle. Probably with different things. The only commonality is the struggle. The internal battle.

The struggle stretches me. It irritates me. It devastates me. It angers me.

Mainly the constant struggle of life frustrates me. And, my giving in to the struggles disappoints me.

Well, it’s more than that. It breaks my heart when I give in to life’s struggles. The ones that know my name. The one that haunts me constantly.

I know the Source to overcome. Following Him is another story.

  1. The struggles kill me too Steve. But I also know that without the struggles there would be no glory. I pray for your day today. I hesitate praying it would be "struggle free" but that you would be able to handle them as they come.

  2. James 1:2-8 (The Message)

2-4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

5-8If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I can't wait to read what you have written.
