Waiting.
I’ve never been good at waiting. Ask my wife. Ask just about anyone.
Why wait when you can have it right now?
Sure, that sounds right. But, it is so wrong.
The Bible says: “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
I’ve read those words. I’ve memorized them. But, I haven’t learned them. I know I haven’t—because I still don’t wait. I still run ahead of the Lord.
That’s why I struggle.

I can certainly relate Steve! I have been learing that it isn't so much the "Why?" of waiting but the "When?" of waiting. When will this all be over? When will the pain cease? When will the job come? Rom.8:29 shows us the why ("be comformed to the image of His Son") but the "when" will that happen is a mystery. Just my .02 worth.
ReplyDeleteI don't know anyone who likes to wait.
