A Mother's Love

[Photo from Google, not the real criminal]

A 37-year-old Great Falls, Montana, woman is accused of driving her son and his friends around the city as the teens stole items from cars.

Police learned about the case Saturday morning when the woman’s husband called authorities to report he found a pile of stuff in his back yard that he suspected had been stolen. Court records say over $3,000 in items were stolen, including a set of golf clubs and power tools.

Lisa Dilley is charged with accountability to theft and accountability to criminal trespass to a vehicle, along with endangering the welfare of children.

Two 18-year-olds, Justin Julian and Julie Surratt, also face the accountability charges. Five juveniles were arrested in the case, including Dilley's 16-year-old son.

You know, I could never have imagined my mother doing this. My mother would even let us stay out pass 10:00 PM on the weekends!

  3. I would hope that people realize that what you see on line and what is real are not always exactly the same. As her brother I can tell you that mental illness is very hard to watch as it takes a family member away. This is not how my sister is always. And we have very normal fun reunions. You must post just to see your typing? Just as bad as the news.

  4. Dear Anonymous Brother...thanks for dropping by and commenting.

No, I don't post just to read my own typing. And, I hope I'm not nearly as bad as the news. In this case, I simply reported what was reported by various news outlets.

If you would like, feel free to correct the story here for others to read.

  5. That seems a little judgemental for a Pastor, Rick.

  7. Thank you for allowing me to vent a little. And for posting my comments. I don't want to go into great detail about what happened, but I can say that Bi-polar disorder played a big role and new medications. Sadly she has had her children (4) taken from her, two, very little. They are paying for what has happened. My sister has been brought up in a christian home and has been a good member of society. Sadly I have watched her change over the last couple of years as the Doctors keep trying new medicines on her. Just days ago I saw her and she has lost over 50 lbs, is skin and bones. She is somewhat catatonic and has a hard time even walking. She is aware now of what was going on, and is sad of what her illness allowed to happen, and is fearful of what could be next. She is scared....sick...and missing her children.

  8. Anon...you are welcomed to come and share anytime...to vent...to ask for prayer...whatever...

I started this blog a little over a year ago, to share humorous stories...serious thoughts...to challenge our thinking...etc. I generally allow a free-flowing comment thread...if the comment is offensive or uses profanity, I delete it. There's always more to the story than meets the eye, or in this case, the newspaper headline. Thanks for additional insight.

  9. I sincerely apologize for the insensitive comment I left back in April. I also apologize for not making this comment on Wednesday; I have been away at camp this week without a computer.

Unfortunately, this tragic story was at the expense of your family. I am unfortunately also well acquainted with the problems that certain mental illnesses can manifest.

Please accept my apology. I sincerely hope that your sister is getting the appropriate assistance she needs and am praying for the healing of the family.
