Father's Day--100 Words

Father’s Day.

Most important day of the year.

Just ask any father!

It is a time to reflect upon our own fathers.

And, the job they did. Or, the job they did on us.

It is also a time to reflect on our own years of being a father.

To learn lessons discovered the hard way.

There’s no textbook that comes with our children. No owner’s manual.

Basically, shortly after birth, the doctor bundles up the screaming little child and says, “This belongs to you now.”

Honestly, that was one of the most frightening days of my life!

Still is.

Shutting Down--100 Words

Shutting down.

For some time, I’ve considered shutting down my blog. At one point last year, I did for a couple of months—I think I ran out of steam or words.

I’ve also considered closing my Facebook® page. After all, who really cares if I give a status update or not or should I even care about posting those.

So, the time has come to shut’em down.

Call it quits.

Ride off into the sunset.

Bid everyone a fond adieu.

Wave goodbye.

Today’s a good a day for that.

Don’t you think?.

Considering it’s April Fool’s Day!

April Fool!

Labor--100 Words

Labor.

Let’s see. There’s Labor Day—a day when few people work.

There’s labor pains—which women will tell you, no man will ever understand.

And, there are labor unions. Not sure anyone understands them.

There’s also labor for the kingdom.

It was Paul who said, “for this we labor and strive, that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.”

Why do you labor? A paycheck? Your security? For prestige? For fun?

How about for God? No matter what your “labor.” Do it for God.
