A New York man claims that he was nearly cut when he found a knife baked into the bun of a cold-cut 12-inch sandwich he bought at a Subway in New York City.
John Agnesini says he knew his lunch didn’t taste right.
The 27-year-old said he was horrified to find a 7-inch serrated blade in the bread. He said it was protruding into the half of the sandwich he was about to start eating and that it “could’ve slashed” the side of his mouth. Instead, he said he fell ill with “severe stomach issues” for hours after eating. He attributes it to food poisoning from the embedded blade.
Subway restaurants spokesman Kevin Kane said food safety and customer comments are taken “very seriously” and that the company is “investigating the facts.”
Two thoughts:
1) Can you say, “Lawsuit!” (See yesterday's post!)
2) That’s why I only order six-inch subs from Subway! Those pesky seven-inch knifes don’t get in the way when I do that!
And, if my good blogger friend reads this, I'm sure he would add a #3 to the list (he likes lists):
3) That's another great reason not to eat at Subway...
I have eaten at Subway for more than 20 years...I've NEVER had a problem with any sandwich I've ever ordered...
ReplyDeleteI also watch them make the sandwich from start to finish.
The "plaintiff" just wants to sue over something...
You already added #3 so how about #4? This sounds awful "fishy" since you watch them (as Phil says) from start to finish. Why did he not see it when it was being made? Why did the person making and cutting it not see it? Come on!
ReplyDelete#5: can you say "planted knife?"
I may think of some more later. :)
One more comment: I really like your slide show of your son but you need to be careful not to warp him. That Atlanta Braves outfit and baseball card has got to go! Pirates works better. Would look better also.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bill, at least on his first comment! If you order a 12-inch sandwich, they cut it in front of you...and they cut it in half! So, how can you cut a 12-inch sandwich in half and miss the knife? Don't think so! Planted knife sounds right to me...Maybe OJ put it there?!
ReplyDeleteRuin my child by having him wear a pirates uniform? Are you wanting me to teach him humilation this early in his young life? Do you want people booing him as we stroll him through the mall? Do you want me to give him a complex at 5 months?
ReplyDeleteI think not Bill...
However, I do collect baseball stuff...care to send your favorite new blogger friend some pirate stuff? I'll find an "appropriate" place for it! I promise!
Your son needs to wear a CHICAGO CUBS uniform...
ReplyDeleteand if you'll give me a mailing address, I'll gladly send one to the lad!
Phil...he currently wears 6-9 month clothing...and I'll gladly send the address...however, I don't see where to email it to...not on your blog. So, email me at sheartsill@wmu.org and I'll forward you the info.
ReplyDeleteI ain't proud...and in your honor, he'll grace my blog as soon as the uniform arrives! For a day, at least! :)
Funny enough? When I was reading this I start making a list! OH, my. It's contagious. Please send help immediately!
ReplyDeleteI must confess your son's slide show is rather cute. Great facial expressions!
See Steve. I am not the only one who thinks you are warping your son with that Braves outfit even though I would not go for a Cubs either. :) My oldest daughter was a Braves fan and I had to put up with her garbage for all those years of Braves vs. Pirates. Like Phil I would send you and outfit but i have a grandson I have to lure away from the Reds.
ReplyDeleteCamey...please feel free to send your list...I'd love to hear your thoughts...
ReplyDeleteThanks about the slide show...I know I am partial...but he is a cute boy!
Bill...email me and I'll send you my son's address...He'll love the pirate's outfit...especially since he doesn't know any better!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to tell everyone later the story behind the Braves outfit...
Doesn't know any better? Ok buddy the gloves are off!!
ReplyDeleteAs for that Braves outfit...wanted him to experience first hand what happens when you don't get an education and fulfill your dreams?
You know the great things about the Pirates? They ALWAYS make the Braves look good! Always!
ReplyDeleteBill...still angry about the famous Sid Bream slide in 1991?
