Disagreement--100 Words

Disagreement.

How well do you handle disagreement? Is disagreement good? Is disagreement not acceptable? Does disagreement frustrate you?

Is it your way or the highway?

General Colin Powell said, “When we are debating an issue, loyalty means giving me your honest opinion, whether you think I'll like it or not.”

Here was a man who could demand total agreement to his point of view, no matter what others thought or said. But, to him, loyalty meant honesty.

I agree.

What better way to demonstrate friendship than honesty.

Don’t like what I say? Fine by me. Feel free to say so.

  1. Since I don't want to disagree with you I will say "I agree." :) Actually, I do. I think what has happened is that we have been taught for so many years that Christ-followers are not lose their temper, not to get angry, not to be divisive, etc that we have shut up from voicing our opinions in an effort to comply with "the rules." We miss out on so much! Good thoughts Steve. See I agree with you again.

  2. Bill...we usually agree...it's almost like we are brothers, except we don't fight and pull each others' hair out...then again, neither of us have much hair to pull! :)
