Patience--100 Words

Patience.

What a difficult concept.

At least for me. Maybe I’m the only one. I rather doubt it. But, still patience may be a virtue, but it’s not my virtue.

I don’t like waiting.

Not in the bank line.

Not at WalMart.

Not at a restaurant.

Not in traffic.

I do not like waiting. Not even at church.

I’m just not that patient.

Oh, I wish I were. I’ve longed for it. I’ve prayed for it. I’ve waited for it.

Still, patience is a struggle.

What’s your thought on patience?

Are you an expert? Novice? Or, have you given up?

Smile When You Say Wally World

Those wacky Massachusetts’ people! What will they do next to get in the news?

It seems that a customer shopping at a Falmouth (quite the appropriate city name for this story) WalMart for a wallet claims he found something that definitely didn’t fit the bill: human teeth.

Police say the man found 10 human teeth Saturday when he unzipped a compartment in the wallet. One tooth had a filling.

The customer turned the wallet and the teeth over to employees at the Falmouth store but left without giving his name. (I wonder if they checked his smile on the way out the door. Any teeth missing?)

Police investigating the incident told The Cape Cod Times that the teeth belong to an adult, but since there was no blood or gum tissue on the teeth, they would be unable to perform DNA tests.

A Walmart spokeswoman said the company believes it was an “isolated incident,” but will investigate. (I would hope so!)

So, wonder who’s missing 10 teeth. Or, could this be a case where the “tooth fairy” was out shopping after a busy night, stopped into the nearby WalMart to pick up a wallet, laid down her night’s collection, and forgot them? Or, is there a serial tooth stealer in Falmouth? Or, better yet, is this another way for the local union to discredit WalMart, as they’ve been known to do.

I’ll be watching the news for updates. This is almost as good as the found feet in Washington State! Almost!

Stupid Is As Stupid Does

Sometimes, I just don’t understand people. Even more so, there are times that I just don’t understand parents! Here’s a case in point why.

The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, who was denied a birthday cake with the child’s full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance.

Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the nearby ShopRite, but also with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article about the cake.

Heath Campbell, who is 35, said in an interview Tuesday that people should look forward, not back, and accept change. “They need to accept a name. A name’s a name. The kid isn’t going to grow up and do what [Hitler] did,” he said.

After ShopRite refused the request for the cake as inappropriate, the Campbells got a cake decorated at a Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania, Deborah Campbell said.

About 12 people attended the birthday party on Sunday, according to Heath Campbell.
The Campbells’ other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April.

Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because “no one else in the world would have that name.”

Campbell said his ancestors are German and that he has lived all his life in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, which is across the Delaware River from Easton.

You know, I’m all in favor of freedom of speech and freedom to make your own decisions.

But, there are just some parents who don’t need to have children!

Heath and Deborah Campbell fall into that category!

Adolf Hitler, Aryan Nation, and Honszlynn Hinler—poor children.

While I hope they don’t grow up to do the things Hitler did, I do know a few kids that are going to suffer on the playground, in school, and in life. Why? Because of a stupid decision by stupid parents to name their children this way.

Sick. Sick. Sick.
