Better yet. In Christian circles, we wouldn’t dare gossip. So, what’s a sinner to do? “Can I share a prayer request with you…?”
A Jewish proverb almost got it right: “What you don’t see with your eyes, don’t witness with your mouth.”
I might improve on that proverb slightly: Whether you see it with your own eyes or not, don’t witness it with your mouth.”
I’m tired of gossip. There’s no room for it. Either my telling the latest or hearing it. Gossip is mean, ugly, and not Christ-like.
